We are so thrilled to invite you to our upcoming Luna Market. As always, we showcase local women artists & makers, local food, and entertainment, with a little bit of theater and whimsy.

Sapphire Kieft - Musical delights

Sapphire is a 3rd generation musician. Her mother is a harpist, her grandmother played the piano and accordion. She spent many years playing violin and singing alongside her mother and step father, who was a jazz guitar player, in Mexico.

At the age of 19 Sapphire took up playing guitar and singing. She had several local bands she played in and won “Best Acoustic Musician of Tucson” in 1996. She opened for many well known musicians including Ray Wylie Hubbard. He told her she should move to Austin, Tx.
So she did.

Ashlyn's henna

Ashlyn recently graduated high school and I am attending Austin community college. She enjoys providing Art in a way that is fun and easy for people of all ages. Her main focus is henna tattoos and a mehndi style of art.

This type of art is transferrable to almost any canvas in a very wide range of objects such furniture, body art, frames, wood, murals, and many other things as ideas come. Ashlyn loves to provide people of all ages with a piece of art or temporary tattoo that represents an important culture that she takes a great interest in.

Elgin Juneteenth Organization

Elgin Juneteenth Organization canceled plans for their annual Juneteenth Celebration and Parade this year due to Covid-19. This annual event is a fundraiser for the good work this organization does for our community throughout the year, every year.

Elgin Juneteenth Organization will be at Luna Market on Friday, June 18th sharing information about their organization and accepting donations. Please bring cash or a check if wanting to make an in person donation.

The Elgin Juneteenth Organization is a nonprofit that remains committed to serving our community through advocating community awareness and engagement; sponsoring college scholarships for Elgin graduating seniors; providing families’ meals during special holidays; subsidizing Christmas shopping sprees for underprivileged youth (Shop with A Cop program); and serving as needed to ensure the quality of life for all is better.
