Re-imagining advent calendars

Traditionally, advent calendars are used to count down the days of Advent in the run up to Christmas. They have a series of doors or windows to open, revealing a picture, small chocolate or little gift for each day.

What if we reverse that? Instead of receiving something each day, we give something instead. By Christmas Eve we’ll have a box of 24 items to donate!

How it works

1. Sign up and share

Use our sign up form to tell us you’re interested in taking part. This lets us know how many boxes to plan for and how many families in need we can support. It also lets us keep in touch with news and updates.

Then share this page with your friends – the more the merrier!

Sign up is closed for 2023 – we’ll see you again next year!

2. Collect your box

Collect your box at Lo-Fi Coffee House and Studio from December 2nd.

3. Fill your box

Each day of Advent, add something to your box. It could be something small like a bar of soap or can of beans, or something larger like a child’s toy. Use our guide for ideas! (No perishable items please!)

While you’re busy filling your boxes, the amazing team at Advocacy Outreach will be matching you to families in need.

4. Box collection or drop-off

If you’ve asked us to collect your box we’ll do that between 9am and 10am on December 24th. Our volunteers will delivery your box to your matched family.

If you’d like to drop off your own box you can take it to Advocacy Outreach on December 24th between 10 and 11am (map below).
